Let There Be Light
There are thousands in our community and beyond who continue to go to work every day in order to keep our corner of the world safe, secure, and supplied. They can’t work from home and they risk their own health and safety so the rest of us can shelter in place to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Old Saybrook residents are showing their support to essential workers with the “Let There Be Light Initiative.” Every night throughout April, locals light up their front doors with driftwood stars, string lights, luminaries and porch lights. Let us offer support to the doctors, nurses, medical professionals, first responders and other essential workers who keep food in the stores and medicine at the ready by shining a light every night in April.
Show your support and assemble your star
Here’s how:
If you have access to these materials at home this is a fun and inexpensive craft for you and the family. You don’t have to be crafty, anyone can participate by simply turning on a light by your front door.
Let’s take this initiative across the shoreline!!! It is a simple gesture that could mean so much. Share this page on Facebook.
