Come to Old Saybrook and visit the Connecticut Cancer Foundation! Our building features a baseball Hall of Fame museum and a world-class art gallery with exciting exhibits throughout the year.

The Connecticut Cancer Foundation (CCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded to provide economic assistance and compassionate aid to CT cancer patients while in active treatment.  CCF was founded in 1987 by John Ellis, former NY Yankees catcher and cancer survivor.  While going through treatment John witnessed the financial and emotional devastation this disease causes to families already struggling to make ends meet.  He promised if he survived that he would spend the rest of his life helping other cancer patients.

OUR MISSION:  To provide financial assistance to Connecticut cancer patients and their families and fund cancer research.

CCF provides financial assistance for critical basic living needs such as rent/mortgage, utilities, medical co-pays and more.  CCF works with many of the major hospitals throughout CT to identify patients in need of financial support where they may have nowhere else to turn.  CCF has granted more than $6.1 million to more than 7,000 CT cancer patients over the past 32 years and more than $2.2 million to cancer research at MSKCC.

CCF’s most important and most anticipated annual fundraising event of the year, the Annual Celebrity Dinner is held at Mohegan Sun every February; this year Friday, February 7, 2020.  This signature event began in 1988 with Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford and Billy Martin followed by Joe DiMaggio and Yogi Berra in 1989.  Recent guests include Derek Jeter and Big Papi along with many Hall of Famers who are distinctively highlighted in our Vincent Genovese Hall of Fame exhibit at our building in Old Saybrook.  This exhibit captures over 100 Major League Baseball stars and legends who have attended the Annual Celebrity Dinner over the last 32 years.

CCF organizes many other fundraising initiatives throughout the year to support our Patient Assistance Program such as our No Shave November campaign, and our Cycle Against Cancer events.  CCF also presents unique Art Exhibits and Speakers Programs at the Art Gallery at CCF headquarters.  To donate, sponsor or keep up with the happenings at CCF please visit our website at www.ctcancerfoundation.org or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
