From New York

By Rail

Using the train is an excellent option for visitors to the CT Shoreline. Many of our visitors fly into New York and, after spending a time in NYC, hop on the train to New Haven. Both Metro North (Grand Central Station) and Amtrak (Grand Central and Penn Station) provide service to New Haven. Once there, transfers to the Shoreline East Train are an option as well as car rentals. The Shoreline East Train stops in several beautiful communities along the shoreline, including Branford, Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Westbrook and Old Saybrook. Most of these communities offer car rentals. If you are traveling light and love to explore, it is also fun to take the train from town to town.

By Ferry

From Long Island you can take the Port Jefferson Ferry from Central Long Island or the Cross Sound Ferry from Orient Point. Both are vehicle/passenger ferries and arrive in New London.

From Boston

By Rail

Amtrak has several trains per day from Boston to New London, CT, where car rental is then available. There is free transportation from Boston Logan to South Station where there is luggage storage if you want to spend a day in Boston before heading to the shoreline.

By Bus

There are 3 greyhound busses from Boston to New London daily.
